Facilities for security services at Zaatari improved under Japanese grant

AMMAN — The Japanese government has extended a $500,000 grant to the UN Office for Project Services (UNOPS) to finance the “Improving Safety and Security and Increasing Access to Comprehensive Services for Syrian Refugees in Zaatari Camp” programme, according to a Japanese embassy statement.

The project was inaugurated on Tuesday in a ceremony at the camp, attended by Masayuki Magoshi, deputy chief of mission and counsellor at the embassy, Mafraq Governor Qasem Mheidat and Gerhard Pansegrouw, UNOPS director and representative in Amman.

“This project is expected to further improve safety and security in Zaatari camp by providing necessary facilities for the security officers,” the statement said.
