European delegation visits SESAME

AMMAN — A delegation from the European Commission on Tuesday visited Synchrotron-light for Experimental Science and Application in the Middle East (SESAME) and had a first-hand look at the project.
Khaled Toukan, head of SESAME, briefed the delegation on the phases of establishing the centre and its tasks, such as providing facilities to serve applied research in a way that enhances science and technology infrastructure in the region.
European Commissioner for or Research, Science and Innovation Carlos Moedas praised the progress in building SESAME, stressing the commission’s support for the project until its completion in 2016.
