Envoy to UNESCO presents credentials to organisation’s chief

AMMAN — Jordan’s permanent representative to the UNESCO, Bishr Khasawneh, presented his credentials to Director General Audrey Azoulay, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. They discussed ways to strengthen the Jordan-UNESCO relations. Khasawneh highlighted the role of His Majesty King Abdullah in protecting holy places in Jerusalem.
He voiced his appreciation to Azoulay and the UNESCO for its role in supporting the Education Ministry with strategic plans for 2018-2022. For her part, Azoulay expressed her appreciation for Jordan, affirming the agency’s keenness to provide technical support to Jordanian institutions.
She also highlighted the role of Jordan as member of the executive board of the UNESCO, underlining the recent resolution that the board adopted unanimously concerning the Jordan-based Synchrotron-Light for Experimental Science and Applications in the Middle East, which Jordan and 37 other member states have recommended.
