Environment minister, World Bank officials discuss climate change action

AMMAN — Environment Minister Nabil Masarweh on Monday met with World Bank Regional Director of the Mashreq Department Saroj Jha and World Bank Resident Representative in Jordan Holly Benner and discussed climate change cooperation for the future, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During the meeting, the minister presented the government's plans to integrate climate response projects with development projects in various sectors.
He referred to Jordan's participation in the 26th UN Climate Change Conference, which is scheduled for next November in the UK. Jha praised Jordan's expertise in climate action and its ambition to double its commitment to the environment, despite the challenges posed by hosting refugees. He said that Jordan will be presented in the World Bank's special report as one of the success stories in the field of climate progress and development at the conference.
