Environment minister meets Australian ambassador

AMMAN — Environment Minister Nabil Masarweh on Tuesday met the Australian Ambassador to Jordan Bernard Lynch, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on environmental issues of mutual concern, foremost of which are climate change, future global visions and the urgency of implementing projects to tackle climate change.
They also discussed Jordanian and Australian roles in exchanging expertise in the field of climate change as well as setting plans and programmes aimed to reducing this phenomenon. Both sides emphasised the two countries’ eagerness to cooperate and communicate to realise joint development programmes, Petra reported.
For his part, Masarweh indicated that Jordan is looking forward to implementing future projects, sharing Jordanian and Australian expertise in the field of technology, and creating green job opportunities to protect natural reserves and the newly announced marine reserve in Aqaba.
