Election commission receives 9,661 voter list contestations

AMMAN — The Independent Election Commission (IEC) has received 9,661 voter list contestations for the August 15 local and municipal elections, 8,690 of which were personal objections, IEC Spokesperson Jihad Momani said on Tuesday.
Momani noted that the period to contest voter lists was between May 22 and 31, 10 days that followed the publishing of the preliminary lists, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. IEC called on citizens to review their names on the lists, which are available online on the commission’s website and through its free line on 117100.
