Eid Al Adha begins on July 20 — Grand Mufti

AMMAN — Eid Al Adha will begin on Tuesday, July 20, corresponding to the 10th of Dhul Hijja, the Kingdom’s Grand Mufti Mohammad Khalaileh said on Saturday, after Sunday was announced the 1st of Dhul Hijja 1442.
By celebrating Eid Al Adha, or the feast of the sacrifice, Muslims mark the end of another major ritual in Islam, the Hajj, or the greater pilgrimage to Mecca.
The key Hajj ritual will be marked on Arafa Day, which this year falls on Monday, July 19. On this day, Muslim pilgrims ascend the Arafat Mount from morning till sunset, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
