AMMAN — Egyptian Shorouk newspaper announced that its news website had been hacked on Wednesday, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, on Thursday quoted Akeed, an online portal dedicated to monitoring the credibility of media.
The hacking resulted in an article which claimed that the Qatari ambassador in Amman made negative remarks against the Kingdom, which Shorouk insists was a hoax. While the news was ignored by Jordanian news outlets, many other Arab outlets published the story.
