AMMAN — The Ministry of Education has announced new school hours for the Kingdom, which will take effect as of November 3 and continue until the end of Ramadan next year.
According to a ministry circular, the school day at single shift schools will begin at 8:15 am, with the first class starting at 8:30 am. Each class will last for 45 minutes.
For double shift schools, afternoon shift will begin at 12:50 pm, with the first starting at 1:00 pm.
The ministry noted that classes in both the morning and afternoon sessions will last 35 minutes, with the five-minute break between classes removed. Schools will open their doors to students at 7:45 am.
The ministry had decided to adjust school hours in response to a government decision to maintain the summer time, daylight saving time, throughout the year.
