AMMAN — The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) Chief Commissioner Nasser Shraideh on Saturday announced that the British company "EasyJet" would start operating a number of direct flights to the city of Aqaba as of next October.
Shraideh pointed out that the first of these lines is Berlin - Aqaba and London - Aqaba line during next November, expecting these lines to contribute to stimulate tourism to Aqaba, the "Golden Triangle", the triumvirate of Aqaba, Petra and Wadi Rum and then to the rest of the tourist areas in the Kingdom.
Shraideh stressed that operating these lines came after joint efforts between the ASEZA and Jordan Tourism Board with EasyJet, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He also added that EasyJet operates within the low-cost aviation system which provides basic services to passengers, thus contributing to increasing the number of tourists to Aqaba, stimulating trade and facilitating investors' transportation from and to Aqaba.
