Dutch ambassador visits marine services company in Aqaba

AMMAN — Dutch Ambassador to Jordan Harry Verweij on Tuesday visited the Aqaba Port Marine Services Company (APMSCO), the oldest Dutch maritime company operating in Aqaba.
APMSCO General Manager Dirk Wijnen gave an overview of the company's history and discussed the towing and guide services offered by its tugboats and vessels.
Wijnen pointed out that the company offers top-notch marine services to ships that dock at the Aqaba Port, working in collaboration with all relevant sectors, shipping lines and sea and port authorities in the Gulf of Aqaba. He added that the APMSCO fleet is well-equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, as well as a team of highly skilled and experienced staff to handle and dock vessels of various sizes safely and with the "utmost precaution" The ambassador praised APMSCO, an affiliate of Holland's Smit Lamnalco, for its great impact on international ports, world-class maritime support and high safety and environmental preservation standards, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
