AMMAN — Hot and dry weather is forecast for Tuesday as the Kingdom remains under the impact of a relatively hot air mass, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said on Monday.

Temperatures on Tuesday will be 8ºC above their annual average of 24ºC for this time of the year, a JMD weather forecaster said, noting that the impact of the relatively hot air mass, which started affecting Jordan late last week, is forecast to subside on Wednesday.

Relatively hot weather is forecast for mountainous areas and hot weather is forecast for the rest of the Kingdom, the meteorologist said.

“Brisk southeasterly to southwesterly winds will be raising dust across the country on Tuesday, particularly in the southern and eastern regions,” the weather forecaster said.

Temperatures will reach a high of 32ºC during the day, dropping to a low of 20ºC at nighttime in Amman, according to the JMD.

“Temperatures will drop by 5ºC on Wednesday, when impact of the relatively hot air mass is expected to ease off. Fair weather is expected across the Kingdom, but it will be relatively hot in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba,” the weather forecaster said.

Scattered showers are also forecast during the day, especially in the south and east of the Kingdom, according to the meteorologist, who noted that clouds of different altitudes will be covering the skies.

Daytime temperatures will be 27ºC, dropping to 13ºC at night in the capital, and winds will be westerly to northwesterly moderate to brisk, raising dust in the southern and eastern badia.

A further drop is forecast on Thursday, when temperatures will become around their annual average during this time of the year, according to the meteorologist, with pleasant weather expected.

Winds will be northwesterly moderate to brisk, raising dust in the badia, according to the JMD, and temperatures will range between a high of 25ºC and a low of 12ºC in Amman.
