AMMAN — Tkiyet Um Ali, in cooperation with UNRWA and the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation, on Sunday launched a relief campaign to support people in Gaza.
The campaign entails sending 15,000 food parcels to 60,000 internally displaced families whose houses were destroyed and are currently residing in some 49 UNRWA schools.
Tkiyet Um Ali Director General Samer Balkar said the society will start receiving donations to cover the cost of the parcels, which should contain ready-to-eat food, and will be sent to the strip within the coming few days.
He noted that each parcel costs JD40, adding that people can donate via the tkiyet’s braches in malls or by calling 06/4900900.
