AMMAN — The Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company (JPRC) on Thursday said that demand on gas cylinders has increased by 100 per cent, with the company filling 230,000 cylinders on Wednesday, compared with 125,000 on Tuesday.
JPRC Spokesperson Haidar Bashaireh expected the number to increase by the end of Thursday to 250,000 gas cylinders, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Bashaireh assured the public that the company has a “strong reserve” of liquefied gas at all of the refinery’s branches, adding that liquefied gas vessels are scheduled to arrive in the Kingdom this month and next month, which will boost the JPRC’s reserves and allow it to meet the local market’s needs “for a long time”.
He also stressed that the company’s liquefied gas stations in Amman, Zarqa and Irbid are working at full capacity to meet the increasing demand.
