AMMAN — HRH Crown Prince Hussein on Wednesday visited Luminus Education, which offers technical and vocational training programmes in Jordan.

The visit included Al Quds College and SAE Institute, where the Crown Prince expressed his admiration of the achievements made and the programmes offered, aimed at taking technical and vocational training to new levels, a Royal Court statement said.

Luminus Education is a subsidiary of Luminus Group. It seeks to provide international education services tailored to the needs of the labour market for the Middle East. Located in Amman, Luminus Education includes Al Quds College, Arcana Training Centre, Bella Amman, and SAE Institute.

According to the statement, the visit came “as part of His Highness’ vision to reform technical and vocational education and support restructuring the sector to be able to provide the labour market with its need of skilled labour and help reduce unemployment”.

The group’s CEO Ibrahim Safadi briefed the Crown Prince on the challenges facing the sector of training and the solutions suggested to overcome them.

At SAE, an Australian media institute, he had a first hand look at the facilities and equipment used in audio-visual production, while at Al Quds, a leading community college in Jordan, he checked on the heating and air conditioning workshop.

Dean Ayman Maqableh outlined the programmes designed by the institute in the engineering and IT fields and spoke about the changing role of teachers from instructors to facilitators.
