Crown Prince Foundation, Hult Prize sign cooperation agreement

AMMAN — The Crown Prince Foundation (CPF) and the Changemaker Festival on Monday announced the signing of a cooperation agreement to include the Hult Prize Jordan in the CPF’s programmes and initiatives.

The partnership the two sides announced is expected to secure more than $10 million to fund programmes for Jordanian youth over the next five years, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.  

During the signing ceremony, CEO of CPF Tamam Mango and Hult Prize National Director Ayman Arandi launched the first joint programme Hult Prize Jordan, which will be the base for a wider national platform to enhance the concepts of social entrepreneurship, Petra said.

Under the agreement the two sides signed, the CPF will be the main partner of Hult Prize Jordan and will help in promoting the latter’s motto and programmes among young people, according to Petra. 

As per the agreement, youth will be supported to be decision makers in finding solutions both locally and internationally to global challenges and questions presented annually in the  Hult Prize programme, which lies at the heart of the CPF’s philosophy, Petra said.

Mango said that the “great impact” of the Hult Prize in many countries around the world was the reason behind the CPF’s keenness on establishing a partnership with the world’s largest student competition, according to Petra.

Arandi described the partnership with the CPF as a “strategic step” towards ensuring the continuity of the prize programme in the Kingdom.

An annual, year-long competition launched in 2010, the Hult Prize aims to crowd-source ideas from university students after challenging them to solve pressing social issues related to food security, water access, energy and education, according to its website.
