AMMAN — HRH Princess Dana Firas, chairperson of the International Council on Monuments and Sites-Jordan, and Salt Mayor Khalid Khashman on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in the field of training for the preservation, maintenance and administration of historical and archaeological monuments and sites.
The agreement aims at protecting the cultural heritage of Jordan by creating a general cooperative framework that includes all relevant efforts to sustain cultural and heritage resources, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The MoU tackled several fields related to the training of staff in documenting and preparing technical reports for heritage resources in Salt.
The training programmes cover maintenance, administration and rehabilitation works, as well as consultation and technical support to help the Greater Salt Municipality establish a school for renovation and maintenance.
