AMMAN — More than 1,000 companies and exhibitors are taking part in the 11th China Products Fair, which opened on Sunday.
The first phase of the exhibition, which runs until Wednesday and is being held at the Amman International Motor Show, features food products, auto parts, security equipment, plastic and packing machinery, new energy, electricity and food processing machinery, organisers said on Sunday.
Minister of Industry and Trade Hatem Halawani, who opened the fair on behalf of Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour, underlined the importance of the event in providing an opportunity for partnerships and exploring business opportunities.
More than 450 suppliers of textiles, garments, home appliances, building materials, furniture, household items, gifts and lighting will display their products during the second phase of the exhibition, which will be held at the same venue from September 15 to18.
Organisers said the number of visitors to the exhibition this year is expected to increase by 40 per cent compared to last year, especially with the participation of delegations and businesspeople from Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, Saudi Arabia and Libya.
Several agreements are expected to be reached during the event.
The exhibition is held with the support of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, the Ministry of Commerce of China, the Trade Development Council, the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, Jordan Investment Board, the Amman Chamber of Commerce and the Palestine Chamber of Commerce.
