AMMAN — The Jordanian National Centre for Epidemics and Communicable Diseases Control (JCDC) on Wednesday discussed the updates to the national plan to combat antimicrobial resistance, which is currently being prepared.

During a meeting with specialists from the Ministry of Health and a representative from the World Health Organisation, the centre reviewed its plan to review and monitor the progress of the projects and activities of the past five years (2018-2022).

JCDC President Raeda Qutob stressed the importance of updating the national plan to combat antimicrobial resistance, and emphasised the need for more resources to support its implementation.

She also pointed to expanding the scope of monitoring data beyond the health sector to include decision-makers in other sectors, and using it to plan activities to address antimicrobial resistance.
