CDD personnel extinguish Ajloun wildfire

AMMAN — Civil Defence Department’s (CDD) personnel in Ajloun on Sunday put out a wildfire that erupted in the Ain Umm Qantara area, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. CDD Director Col. Hani Smadi said that the fire spread over 20 dunums of forest land.
Smadi called on the public not to throw cigarette butts in forests or leave campfires unattended, adding that high temperatures could affect the spread of fire, especially in areas of dry grass.
