Catholic Church in Jordan to hold pilgrimage to Baptism Site Friday

AMMAN — The Catholic Church in the Kingdom will organise the 23rd annual pilgrimage to the Baptism Site of Jesus Christ on Friday.

Archbishop Pierbattista Pizzaballa will preside over a festive mass at the Catholic Church – Church of the Baptism of Christ, with the participation of heads and representatives of the Chaldean, Syriac, Armenian and Maronite Catholic churches.

Director of the Catholic Centre for Studies and Media, Rifaat Badr, in a statement, said that the celebrations come two months after the official announcement of the project to develop the area surrounding the Baptism Site.
