AMMAN — The Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA) on Tuesday announced the launch of a community development tourism project to empower women and youths in the villages and towns, starting with the Feynan Ecolodge, in the south of Jordan.
The programme, funded by Global Affairs Canada, aims at developing the local community by providing year-round jobs in tourism and encouraging activities in target areas.
Also, the programme aims to protect cultural heritage and natural resources while building for a sustainable tourism model that would contribute to stimulating economic growth.
