Canadian ambassador, JUST president discuss cooperation

AMMAN — Canadian Ambassador to Jordan Docia Pottie, along with an accompanying delegation from Memorial University of Newfoundland, on Tuesday met with President of the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) Khaled Salem to discuss bolstering cooperation, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Pottie highlighted the depth of Canadian-Jordanian relations, stressing the embassy's readiness to open channels of cooperation and communication with Canadian universities and institutions in various fields.
Salem affirmed the university’s keenness to extend bridges of cooperation with universities and educational institutions in various countries of the world for the benefit of both sides in all scientific fields and academic disciplines. He commended the continuous cooperation between the university and the Canadian embassy and the support provided by the Canadian government to a number of scientific and research projects implemented by the university.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the Memorial University of Newfoundland delegation delivered a lecture to students and faculty members on student exchange programmes, accommodation, training and joint research work.
