Canada's Sharon Johnston meets refugee families in Amman

AMMAN — Sharon Johnston, wife of Governor General of Canada David Johnston, on Monday met with two Syrian refugee families in Amman and listened to the stories of their escape to the Kingdom, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Johnston met the families at the Children’s Museum Jordan in Amman, accompanied by various officials. Canada has taken in 32,000 Syrian refugees so far and is studying receiving more, officials from Canada's embassy in Amman told Petra.
Also on Monday, the governor general's wife went to Fuheis and visited Caritas Jordan, a charity affiliated with the Catholic Church. Fuheis Mayor Huweishel Akroush and Wael Suleiman, director general of Caritas Jordan, showcased the organisation's activities and services provided to locals and Syrian refugees.
