Cabinet approves organising committee ahead of UNESCO Int'l Conference

AMMAN — The Cabinet on Wednesday approved the formation of an organising committee, to be headed by Minister of Government Communications Faisal Shboul, to prepare to host the UNESCO International Conference in Jordan on the occasion of Global Media and Information Literacy Week 2023. Also on Wednesday, the Cabinet approved the legislative objectives of a draft bylaw for accreditation of non-Jordanian higher education institutions and their certificate equivalency for 2023. Under the amendments, the bylaw provides legislative clauses to set the Ministry of Higher Education's role to accredit non-Jordanian educational institutions and complete equivalency of their certificates, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The Council of Ministers, during the session chaired by Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh, also approved the legislative objectives of the draft administrative organisation bylaw for the Ministry of Youth for 2023, aimed to introduce new administrative units, amending the levels of existing units and changing their links according to the current work status.
