Cabinet approves decision to benefit from IMF credit facilities

AMMAN — The Cabinet on Sunday approved a decision giving Jordan the green light to benefit from the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) credit facility programme.

A final decision on the programme should be reached following negotiations with the IMF in October. The programme supports countries’ structural reforms.

Finance Minister Umayya Toukan said there is consensus on the importance of continuing to cooperate with the fund in light of the good results that the country has achieved within the 2012- 2015 programme, which concluded recently, noting that the accomplishments achieved are in line with the development process.
