AMMAN — The Belgian foreign ministry and Generations For Peace (GFP) on Sunday announced a partnership that will increase the impact and sustainability of GFP’s Jordan Schools Programme, benefiting 5,000 young people living in vulnerable communities in the Kingdom, according to a GFP statement.
The GFP Jordan Schools Programme focuses on reducing violence and the potential for violence in schools experiencing increased population pressures and tensions due to the intake of “a high number” of Syrian refugees.
The partnership will support the creation of GFP clubs in 12 schools in host communities across Jordan, selecting and training 100 students who will work to strengthen social cohesion, resilience and social capital.
