AMMAN — The Business Development Centre (BDC) and Meta, formerly known as Facebook, have joined hands to help support small- and medium-sized enterprises in Jordan since the onset of the pandemic.
The BDC and Meta first conducted a study on the needs of small business in 2020 and subsequently launched the Boost with Facebook programme, according to a BDC statement.
The programme aims to help small businesses and entrepreneurs to understand e-marketing concepts and how to implement them on the Meta platform.
During phase one, around 1,000 small businesses were given training based on the needs of the Jordanian market, in addition to Training of Trainers (TOT).
Theab Al Saghtit, one of the Boost with Facebook programme beneficiaries, said: “Due to my work conditions in customised furniture, I do have a Facebook page to market my work. After the training, I started defining the goal of my online business campaign and discovered my target audience. Thanks to the training, I am now able to build campaigns using the right methods, leading to success.”
Anood, another beneficiary, who preferred to go by one name, said: “I improved my digital marketing skills immensly through the Boost with the Facebook program. It helped me implement and run my marketing campaign in a better way. I am now able to reach and attract more customers.”
Meta and the BDC started phase two of the programme last December with the aim of providing training to a further 1,000 small businesses.
