BDC launches 'Gender Mainstreaming in Jordan’s Industrial Sector' programme

AMMAN — The Business Development Centre (BDC) has officially launched the "Gender Mainstreaming in Jordan’s Industrial Sector'' programme, assisted by the German government via the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
The programme aims to support the efforts of industrial enterprises in enhancing gender equality practices and improving their key performance indicators, according to a BDC statement.
During the event, Nayfah Al Zaben, chair of the Senate women’s committee, highlighted the importance of incorporating women into the labour force in the industrial sector because of the diverse skills and benefits they bring to the workplace.
The event hosted decision makers and HR managers from the textile, pharmaceutical, chemical, food processing, and packaging sectors, among others.
Ghaleb Hijazi, the General Manager of BDC, thanked the German Government and GIZ for supporting the initiative.
