Baghdad-Turaibil road safe — Iraqi minister

AMMAN — Prime Minister Hani Mulki and Iraqi Interior Minister Qasim Araji on Monday reiterated that the two neighbouring countries need to improve the situation of the border crossing to facilitate smooth trade.
At a meeting in Amman on Monday which, Mulki stressed that the Karameh Border Crossing/Turaibil Border Compound, was reopened a few months ago, is a pivotal hub for efforts to revive the economic and trade flow between the two countries.
For his part, Iraqi interior minister expressed Iraq's appreciation for Jordan's support for his country and its efforts in the war against terrorism, pointing out the close cooperation between the Iraqi and Jordanian ministries of interior to secure the border against all forms of smuggling, stressing that the road between Turaibil and Baghdad is safe, which will reflect on economic and trade activities between the two countries.
Araji expressed his appreciation to Jordan for hosting the Iraqi community and the services presented to them.
Jordanian Interior Minister Ghaleb Zu'bi, Minister of State for Media Affairs Mohammad Momani and Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Safia Al Suhail attended the meeting.
