Awqaf minister attends 43rd Amman Message conference

AMMAN — Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Mohammad Khalaileh on Thursday attended the launch of the 43rd International Scientific Session on the Explanation of the Contents of the Amman Message at the King Abdullah II Institute for the preparation of the preachers and their rehabilitation and training.
The Amman Message was an insight into the future, as Islam is under attack from some Muslims who have deviated towards extremism, radicalism and terrorism, just as it faces unfounded accusations from outside, the minister said, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
He added that Jordan has been warning against the dangers of terrorism and extremist ideologies since 2004, and thus, the Amman Message was launched by His Majesty King Abdullah.
The scientific sessions have been held to explain its contents, with the participation of scholars and thinkers from various countries of the world, he noted, and emphasised that the Amman Message is an invitation to sound thinking, the unification of the nation, and understanding Islam correctly.
The session features the participation of 12 countries, in addition to representatives from the Ministry of Awqaf, the General Iftaa Department, the Iftaa of the Jordanian Armed Forces-Arab Army, and the Iftaa of the Public Security Directorate.
