AMMAN — Temperatures will gradually drop to the annual average for this time of year, starting on Friday, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said on Thursday.

Temperatures rose four degrees above the annual average of 28ºC over the past week, but the JMD forecast more moderate weather to prevail from Friday.

Autumn-like weather is forecast on Friday, with moderate weather across the country, and relatively hot weather at the Dead Sea, and in Aqaba and the Jordan Valley, said JMD forecaster Saleh Shayyab.

Daytime temperatures will drop to 30ºC in Amman, with a low of 17ºC at night, while winds will be northwesterly moderate, Shayyab told The Jordan Times.

“Another drop in temperatures is forecast for Saturday, when they will be around the annual average for this time of the year,” Shayyab said.

The weather will be pleasant across the Kingdom, he said, forecasting temperatures of 28ºC during the day and 16ºC at night in Amman, while winds will be northwesterly moderate.

A slight rise in temperatures is forecast for Sunday, but temperatures will remain around their annual average for this time of year, according to Shayyab.

Moderate pleasant weather will continue, he said, noting that temperatures will be 29ºC during the day, dropping to a low of 16ºC at night in Amman.

“The weather at night will be relatively cold,” Shayyab added.
