Audits, crackdown results in recovery of JD445m — Finance Ministry

AMMAN — Auditing of tax returns and crackdown on tax evasion by the Income and Sales Tax Department (ISTD) during the January-July period of this year helped recover a total of JD445 million, Finance Minister Mohamad Al-Ississ on Wednesday.
Auditing of submitted tax returns led to the recovery of JD190 million in book-tax differences and fines in the first seven months of the year, Al-Ississ said in a Finance Minstry statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
An additional amount of JD255 million was also recovered as a result of crackdown on tax evasion.
