Atomic commission delegates visit Russia

AMMAN — A delegation headed by Jordan Atomic Energy Commission (JAEC) Chairman Khaled Toukan visited Russia late last week, according to a statement from Atomenergoprom, a subsidiary of the Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation (Rosatom).
The programme started with a visit to the Rostov nuclear power plant, where the delegation inspected two power units and visited the control panel in the engine room. JAEC representatives also visited the Volgodonsk branch of JSC “AEM-technology” “ATOMMASH”, where they were introduced to the production process and quality control of equipment for nuclear power plants.
Following the visit, Toukan said he was impressed with the “excellent work” of Russian nuclear scientists and engineers, the statement said. The visit was organised by JSC “Rusatom Overseas Inc.” within the framework of cooperation between Russia and Jordan for the projected construction of the first nuclear power plant in the country.
