AMMAN— The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on Wednesday signed an agreement to support the Aqaba Marine Park (AMP) and develop designs for Aqaba Marine Science Station (MSS).
Part of the EU-supported Green Deal, the agreement focuses on the implementation of Indicator No. 8 of the Green Deal, related to the establishment and the management of Aqaba's AMP and MSS, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
ASEZA Chairman Nayef Bakhit, during the signing ceremony, said that the project would push forward efforts to place the site on UNESCO's World Network of Biosphere Reserves and the International Union for the Conservation of Nature’s (IUCN) Green List.
