ASEZA President praises SOFEX as investment attractor

AMMAN — Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) President Nayef Bakhit on Wednesday praised the Special Forces Exhibition and Conference (SOFEX) as a key tool for attracting investments and promoting tourist nationwide.

He added that the exhibition, held in Aqaba for the first time this year, has helped showcase the achievements of the Jordanian Armed Forces, stating that the event will boost the economy and attract investments.

The ASEZA Commissioner for Tourism and Environment Nidal Majali said that the King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba recorded 41 air movements and the percentage of bookings in 5-star hotels reached 94 per cent during the exhibition. Majali also highlighted the active commercial traffic, as about 9,000 visitors entered Aqaba, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
