Army chief receives Canada Chief of the Defence Staff

AMMAN — Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti on Tuesday received Canada Chief of the Defence Staff  Wayne Eyre and an accompanying delegation over means to enhance military cooperation. During the meeting, which is part of a series of meetings between the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) and representatives of other countries, Huneiti said that Jordanian-Canadian relations represent "a model to be followed" in facing various challenges, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. He added that cooperation with Canada in military fields is ongoing through utilising joint expertise and potential in operational, training and technical fields. The army chief also stressed JAF's keenness to develop and sustain relations with Canada to serve the joint interests of both countries' armies. Eyre stressed the "deep" nature of relations between the two armies and the importance of expanding cooperation, praising the role that Jordan plays in preserving regional security and stability.
