AMMAN — The 15th Arab Reporters for Investigative Journalism (ARIJ) Forum is scheduled to kick off on Friday in Amman under the theme “Independent Media”, with the participation of some 3,000 Arab and non-Arab journalists.
More than 500 participants from over 40 countries have arrived in Amman, in addition to registering some 2,500 participants virtually, according to an ARIJ statement. On the sidelines of the three-day conference, the ARIJ Investigative Report Exhibition is planned to be organised, featuring 25 investigative reports, whose writers will speak on the challenges of achieving them and their impact on the ground.
ARIJ Director Rawan Damen said that this year’s edition will focus on independent media and ensuring security, safety, environment issues and cross-border investigations. Since its inception in late 2005, ARIJ has trained some 4,000 journalists, editors and information auditors. It also supervised the production and publishing of some 700 investigative reports, and hundreds of in-depth reports.
