Arab women MPs network denounces crimes against Muslim Rohingya

By JT - Sep 07,2017 - Last updated at Sep 07,2017

AMMAN — The Arab Women Parliamentarians Network for Equality (Raedat) on Thursday condemned the "annihilation, killing, massacres and torture" of the Muslim Rohingya minority in the Rakhine region of Myanmar, especially infants, women and the elderly.

Raedat also denounced the "silence of the international community" on the Muslim Rohingyas who suffer from mass annihilation, religious and ethnic cleansing, war crimes and crimes against humanity that violate international laws and the Human Rights Convention, according to a Raedat statement.

The network called on the government of Myanmar to practise its legal role in stopping the crimes of armed militias and the army against the Rohingyas, urging the international community, mainly the UN and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, to work on stopping these crimes.
