Arab Film Festival opens next Saturday

AMMAN — The fifth Arab Film Festival opens at the Royal Film Commission (RFC) on Saturday with a screening of the Egyptian film “Décor”.
The narrative feature’s director, Ahmad Abdalla, and lead actor Khaled Abul Naga will hold a discussion with the audience after the screening.
Documentaries and narrative features from Syria, Palestine, Sudan, Morocco, Iraq and Jordan will also be screened in the presence of the filmmakers at the festival, which concludes on July 11. The screenings start at 9:30pm.
The festival concludes with the Jordanian-Palestinian-Austrian documentary “The Unbearable Presence of Asmahan”, with director Azza El Hassan present for a discussion with the audience. The screenings are organised by the RFC in cooperation with several Arab embassies in Amman.
