AMMAN — Urumchi, the capital city of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China, recently donated medical equipment to the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, including 200 infrared thermometers at a value of 80,000 Chinese Yuan (some JD8,000).
A Chinese embassy statement on Tuesday said that these supplies aim at supporting the authority in its efforts to fight the coronavirus.
In 2014, Urumchi and Aqaba signed a memorandum of intent to start a twin cities relationship, which reflects the “friendly ties” between China and Jordan, the statement added.
