AMMAN — Arab Potash Company (APC) Chairman Shihadeh Abu Hdeib, in the presence of APC CEO Maen Nsour, on Saturday laid the cornerstone of the APC's research, development and innovation centre in Ghour Al Safi in the Jordan Valley area.
The establishment of the centre, which will be built on a 6,000-square-metre area, is part of the company's strategic plan for 2021-2025 that aims to enhance the productivity and competitiveness of the APC, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The project also aims to create future development plans for the APC in general and the Dead Sea area in particular.
Abu Hdeib said that all countries today are heading rapidly towards a knowledgeable society and economy based on scientific and technological advancements, especially since such economies bring great potential to realise economic development and prosperity.
Nsour highlighted the importance of the centre in supporting the APC’s research endeavours and partner companies, especially since global fertiliser markets are highly competitive and face several challenges, including high energy and water costs.
