Amman Opera Festival to kick off with ‘La Traviata’

AMMAN — The Amman Opera Festival, the first opera festival in the Arab world, is back for its fourth edition with the famous opera, La Traviata, November 16 and 18 at the Amman Academy Theatre.
After being away for two years, the opera in its post-COVID form will star Zeina Barhoum as Violetta, Riccardo Gatto as Alfredo, Carlo Morini as Giorgio Germont, Eva Macaggi as Flora, Talia Ghosheh as Annina, Graziano Issa as Giuseppe and many other singers from Italy and Jordan.
The singers will be accompanied by The Italian Piacenza Opera House Choir, The Terre Verdiane Orchestra and musicians and dancers from Jordan, conducted by Massimo Taddia and directed by Riccardo Canessa, according to a statement from organisers.
Tickets are available on the festival’s official website, as well as the Cozmo grocery store at 7th circle. Theatre doors will open at 6:30pm, with the opera set to begin at 8pm. The event maintains a black tie dress code, according to organisers.
