Amman hosts regional training on Ebola response

AMMAN — The Eastern Mediterranean Public Health Network (EMPHNET), in collaboration with the World Health Organisation, commenced a five-day workshop on Ebola Virus Diseases (EVD) Rapid Response Teams Training, on Sunday, an EMPHNET statement said.
The event hosts 35 participants, including epidemiologists, laboratory experts, prevention and control specialists, and experts of veterinary epidemiology from Syria, Jordan, Iraq and Libya, as well as other areas across the Eastern Mediterranean region.
The training is designed to build the capacity of participants at the national level, enabling them to effectively investigate and respond to cases and outbreaks of EVD and other emerging infections, the statement said.
