AMMAN — Members of the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) and the Anbar Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday discussed means to bolster trade exchange between Jordan and Iraq, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
ACC President Issa Murad said that Jordanian exports to Iraq started increasing after the reopening of the Karameh-Turaibil border crossing between the two countries, noting that a private sector delegation is scheduled to visit Iraq to build new economic partnerships.
Murad called on Iraqi authorities to speed up procedures to activate the list of Jordanian products that had been exempted from custom fees to enable them to enter the Iraqi market.
President of the Anbar Chamber of Commerce Abdul Samad Sabti reviewed the damages caused to Iraqi governorates as a result of wars, which led to the closing of factories and the lack of construction and food items.
