Ambassador honours Balawneh for rescuing Iraqi children in Dead Sea incident

AMMAN – Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Jawad Hadi Abbas on Tuesday honoured Civil Defence Department Warrant Officer Omar Balawneh for the “courage” he showed in rescuing two Iraqi children who were stranded in the Dead Sea recently, according to a statement from the embassy.
Balawneh had to swim for 12 hours to save Maryam, 13, and Maher, 11, and return them to their family safe and sound.
