Al Hassan Industrial Estate exports to US total $505m in first half of 2021

AMMAN — Al-Hassan Industrial Estate exports to the US during the first half of 2021 totalled $505 million, constituting 70 per cent of the estate's total exports, Omar Juwaid, director general of the Jordan Industrial Estates Corporation (JIEC) said on Monday.

Juwaid told the Jordan News Agency, Petra, that the Irbid-based estate exports its products to several countries, including Canada, Europe, Southeast Asia and some Arab countries. He noted that the facility houses 132 industrial companies, including 82 Jordanian companies, 25 Arab companies and 13 non-Arab companies.

Juwaid added that the estate, with an investment volume of JD427 million, provides about 30,000 jobs and accommodates food, textile, pharmaceutical, plastic, chemical and packaging industries.
