Al Bashir Hospital hosts 7th Int’l Conference for Paediatrics

AMMAN — The paediatrics department of Al Bashir Hospital on Thursday hosted the seventh International Conference for Paediatrics, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. The hospital organises the biannual summit to sustain up-to-date education and share expertise with local, Arab and international specialists.
During the opening ceremony, Health Minister Mahmoud Sheyyab stressed the significance of such events as Jordan gives the utmost priority to the healthcare sector, especially children's, noting that Jordanian children are covered with free health insurance.
For his part, Ammar Shurafa, the hospital director, said that the conference aims to uncover the latest advances in the field of children medicine, as well as the challenges and ways to address them. Shurafa said that the paediatrics department contains 120 beds, 80 incubators and 30 beds for thalassemia.
