Agriculture Ministry imports first batch of heating wood

AMMAN — Agriculture Minister Khaled Hneifat on Wednesday announced the arrival of the first batch of imported wood for heating purposes, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Hneifat said that the decision to import tax-free wood came to mitigate the issue of illegal logging and to preserve the forestlands. More shipments are scheduled to enter the Kingdom in the near future, he noted.
