Agreement signed to support renewable energy in agriculture

AMMAN — The ministries of energy and mineral resources and agriculture on Wednesday signed an agreement worth JD2.35 million to support the use of renewable energy in small farmers’ projects through soft loans up to JD15, 000.
The loans aim aim to reduce electricity costs, preserve the environment and enhance the competitiveness of the sector. The agreement was signed by the Agricultural Credit Corporation (ACC) Director General Mohammad Hiyari and Jordan Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund (JREEEF) Executive Director Rasmi Hamzeh, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
